Sailing NOHMA: What Catamaran Do They Own? (2023)

Everything You Always Wanted To Know

Joshua Smith

Founder and Editor at Cruising Freedom

This is the definitive guide on Sailing NOHMA for 2023.

Over the last several years, I have spent many hours watching and researching everything I could about Sailing NOHMA to learn more about their story.

(Yes, I really am *that* obsessed with Sven, Tina and their family 😃)

If you wanted to know:

➜ How Sailing NOHMA afforded their catamaran

➜ How they make their money today

➜ What boat do they have and its upgrades

➜ How they are homeschooling their children

Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Before we start, a quick introduction from me…

The Cruising Freedom Author

Ahoy, Matey! I’m Joshua from Australia.

I’ve built the perfect business to sail the world.

A business model which can allow me to:

➜ Own a catamaran debt-free

➜ Go for weeks without WIFI

➜ Create semi-passive income

➜ Inspire others to dream big

But more on that later… 🙂

Sailing NOHMA FAQs (April 2023)

Boat Name

S/V Nohma

Crew Members

Sven Vranken (age 35)

Tina Vranken (age 34)

They are from Spain and their two young children (Liam and Sky) also join them on the journey.

The Boat

Sailing NOHMA owns a 2020 Lagoon 46.

Upgrades

Upgrades to their catamaran include:

➜ B&G Zeus 3

➜ Watermaker

➜ All-weather cockpit

They also have a Highfield dinghy.

Location

They are currently in Beaufort:

Past Cruising

Previously they were in the Mediterranean but they left to find warmer waters.

Affording It

Sven had worked in the startup world and Tina worked hard too. Together, before having kids, they had earned enough to buy their catamaran and go sailing full-time.

Net Worth

Sailing NOHMA’s net worth is $970,000.

Making Loot

It’s unclear how they make money on YouTube as they haven’t really monetized their channel all that well. They do run ads but that’s all.

Collaborations

They are a smaller channel so I haven’t seen them with any other channels.

That said, they are similar to:

The Sailing Family

Feel The Breeze Family

Sailing Nomad Citizens

I recommend checking out those channels too if you’re into watching cruising families on YouTube.

Big Moments

Their channel is a little younger and they haven’t encountered any drama while sailing.

Future Plans

The Nohma crew is planning to stay in the Caribbean for now. From here, they may explore the United States. They have been here previously but it was a road trip.

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from this beautiful family?

Mostly for the young people – make your money, start a family….then go cruising!

Conclusion

I have really enjoyed watching the Sailing Nohma adventures unfold on their new catamaran.

It’s refreshing to see them cruising on a boat that isn’t considered to be a bluewater cruiser, and yet, they have been able to cross oceans…and even won when racing against other catamarans. 🙂

I’m on the edge of my seat to watch more! Until then…

Hey! 😃 it’s Joshua again…

I’ve been very inspired by Sailing NOHMA and their travels…

Some say I’m obsessed, but sailing the world is my childhood dream.

They’re living the dream, but that dream isn’t actually that far away.

I mentioned earlier about discovering the #1 cruising business model.

With this exciting opportunity, I’ll be able to:

➜ Generate a sustainable full-time income through learning basic skills

➜ Fund the purchase of my first sailing catamaran without any loans

➜ Do it without selling to friends and family (I found a better solution!)

➜ Share my lifetime passion for sailing, cruising and global adventures
