The Ultimate Guide to Sailing Starship Friendship For 2022
Everything You Always Wanted To Know
Founder and Editor at Cruising Freedom
This is the definitive guide on Sailing Starship Friendship for 2022.
Over the last 3 years, I have spent hours upon hours watching and researching everything I could about Sailing Starship Friendship to learn more about their story.
(Yes, I really am *that* obsessed with David and Kellie 😃)
If you wanted to know:
➜ How Sailing Starship Friendship afforded their boat
➜ How they make their money today
➜ What boat do they have and its upgrades
➜ Where did they go? Missing? Divorced?
➜ How you can start crossing oceans
Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.
Before we start, a quick introduction from me…
The Cruising Freedom Author
Ahoy, Matey! I’m Joshua from Australia.
I’ve built the perfect business to sail the world.
A business model which can allow me to:
➜ Own a catamaran debt-free
➜ Go for weeks without WIFI
➜ Create semi-passive income
➜ Inspire others to dream big
But more on that later… 🙂
Sailing Starship Friendship FAQs (June 2022)
S/V Starship Friendship
David Weible (age 37)
Kellie Peterson (age 35)
They met at the famous Burning Man Festival.
Sailing Starship Friendship owns a Lagoon 42
Lagoon catamarans generally aren’t suitable for crossing large oceans as they’re designed to be used for the charter market. That said, David and Kellie made it work and upgraded their boat with:
➜ A diesel generator
➜ 600 watts of solar
They also converted their inside dining table to a day bed.
Sailing Starship Friendship has NOT uploaded any new videos in approximately 2 years. Did they get divorced and give up on YouTube?
Strangely enough, Kellie uploaded the world’s strangest video recently:
Super weird and tells us nothing at all. Kellie really seems ‘off’ doesn’t she?
I also noticed that their own website is down as of May 2022.
They didn’t explore all that much, but did see:
➜ The Atlantic
Are they still sailing? I’d like to think so!
David and Kellie had worked in corporate jobs and saved up over several years to afford their catamaran.
Sailing Starship Friendship has a net worth of $550,000.
Sailing Starship Friendship doesn’t really monetize their channel all that well. They only ran some YouTube ads and did Patreon.
Still, they were making around $4,000/month at their prime.
I haven’t seen them on any other YouTube cruising channels at this stage. If you have, let me know and I can update this article! 🙂
Their journey has been relatively straightforward. They’ve come across a ton of storm boats. Other than that, their biggest moment are the questions surrounding their disappearance. Where did they go? What happened to them? Are they still together?
Rumor has it that they might be in rehab or simply don’t wish to share any of their life publicly on YouTube.
It’s hard to know where they’ll go next, or if they’ll ever upload videos again.
What can we learn?
➜ A Lagoon CAN cross oceans
➜ You can work remotely
➜ Don’t be afraid to do it while you’re young
➜ Do let the YouTube community know if you’re OK
I really enjoyed their channel as much as you did while they were active on YouTube, and I am certainly looking forward to seeing them return soon!
Until then, I’ll be working remotely…
