Everything You Always Wanted To Know
Founder and Editor at Cruising Freedom
This is the definitive guide on Sailing Vantage for 2023.
Over the last few weeks, I have spent many hours watching and researching everything I could about Sailing Vantage to learn more about their story.
They have gone from nothing to HUGELY POPULAR on YouTube within a few months.
Either they’re totally crazy or totally committed to making this dream happen, especially with two toddlers on board.
So if you wanted to know:
➜ How Sailing Vantage afforded their boat
➜ How they make their money today
➜ What boat do they have and its upgrades
➜ Why they chose to sail with young kids
➜ How you can start crossing oceans
Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.
Before we start, a quick introduction from me…
The Cruising Freedom Author
Ahoy, Matey! I’m Joshua from Australia.
I’ve built the perfect business to sail the world.
A business model which can allow me to:
➜ Own a catamaran debt-free
➜ Go for weeks without WIFI
➜ Create semi-passive income
➜ Inspire others to dream big
But more on that later… 🙂
Sailing Vantage FAQs (January 2023)
Zach Vantage (age 35)
Katelyn Vantage (age 34) otherwise known as Kate
Crystal (age 34) and whose last name I couldn’t find, is their friend. She also plays a part of helping raise their children.
Their two young children are quite the handful!
Sailing Vantage has a 1991 Catalina 42 mk1.
It’s powered by a Yanmar 4JH2E 50hp inboard engine.
Upgrades to their yacht include:
➜ 700w of solar on the custom-made bimini
➜ Magma fish cleaning station and grill
They are planning more upgrades once their budget permits.
They are currently in Bahia Partida.
They are planning to stay here for some time.
They haven’t sailed that much as they’ve just started on YouTube, but they have been through the United States and Mexico. They previously owned a trailer sailer.
Zach and Kate didn’t come from rich parents but simply worked hard and invested wisely, having come from corporate America They sold their house to fund their cruising dreams.
Sailing Vantage has a net worth of $320,000.
This combines their boat value and business income.
They are only just starting out on YouTube and don’t appear to make anything on the channel just yet, apart from some Adsense revenue.
It’s unclear how they’re able to sustain themselves, but they talked a little on this video:
They definitely did NOT do OnlyFans. This appears to be a false rumour spreading around.
They haven’t been sailing with anyone else apart from Crystal.
Nothing yet, but watch this space. 🙂
They’re planning to stay as close to the United States as possible. This includes the Bahamas and Mexico, but are aiming to stay around the Sea of Cortez first.
What can we learn from this ambitious couple?
➜ You can definitely sail with young kids
➜ Be willing to take risks, starting today
➜ Work hard for your dreams of sailing
➜ Find a partner who enjoys cruising
I have absolutely loved watching them suddenly spring up on YouTube. They’re refreshing compared to the old-timers (I’m looking at you, Delos!) and I can’t wait to see the journey unfold.
Either they’re totally crazy or totally confident. Let’s see what comes next! ✌️
