She is single and is sailing the world by herself, although sometimes has friends join her on the journey. Her sister Tish does some of the video editing from her home so Holly can get on with sailing around the world.
The Boat
Holly from Wind Hippie Sailing has a Gride 27 double-ender sloop that was made almost 40 years ago.
Upgrades
She has hardly done any upgrades.
Her boat has no fridge which explains why she’s often diving for dinner! She also has no outboard for her dinghy and uses a windvane for self-steering. She’s ambitious as she is committed to her journey.

She is no stranger to danger (bad dad joke…last one I promise!), but Holly has explored with her boat in:

As I mentioned above, she’s now in French Polynesia and will stay for a few weeks.
Affording It
Where did Holly get the money? She saved hard after working several years in casual jobs. Her boat only cost her around $5,000 and she repaired most of it herself being as resourceful as she is.
Net Worth
Wind Hippie Sailing is worth $120,000. She isn’t rich but she’s one of the happiest people I’ve come across in the sailing community. Despite the conditions, she avoids the drama and simply gets on with the job. Compare that to the popular channels and we have a diamond in the rough!
Making Loot
Holly is definitely running her channel as more of a hobby rather than a business, but still makes around $700/month on YouTube. This is made through:

➜ Doing talks on sailing in person
She could be doing a lot more but perhaps hasn’t worked out how to do it all yet.
Collaborations
Who has she been with? Who is that guy on the boat? Well, that’s her friend and she is definitely still single despite them getting along so well!
She hasn’t really collaborated with any other YouTubers but I would LOVE to see her sail with Sam Holmes. Those two have so many similarities!

Given that I’ve been watching her sailing journey for a while, I’ve noted several moments during that time:

She hasn’t created any drama and has simply experienced the raw nature of living on a sailboat.
Future Plans
Holly plans to continue to sail the world and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In 10 years she’ll be still sailing the world. Where will YOU be?
