If you wanted to know:

➜ How Feel The Breeze Family afforded their boat

➜ How they make their money today and their net worth

➜ What boat do they have and its upgrades

➜ More details about Rianne’s divorce and court case

➜ How you can start crossing oceans

Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Before we start, a quick introduction from me…

Feel The Breeze Family FAQs (April 2023)

Boat Name

S/V Perfect Sense (it’s painted on the aft of their boat)

Crew Members

Gerben Hottinga (age 42) who built multiple businesses

Rianne Hottinga (age 37) and was born on a boat

This wonderful couple have been together for 6 years.

Benjamin Hottinga (age 3) who is their son. Rianne just gave birth to their second child in late 2022.

Pedro Wessells (land-based video editor) edits and publishes most of their videos.

Divorce

Gerben and Rianne have had relationship issues through parts of their journey, and have spent time separately. However, they are not divorced. These issues may stem from cabin fever, where two people are in a cramped environment..and having a toddler on board makes things way more difficult.

More details here:

She has had issues with a court case from previous issues due to Gerben’s bankruptcy.

I don’t think they’ll be separating anytime soon, especially as she is pregnant with their next child.

The Boat

Feel The Breeze Family has a 2004 Beneteau 57 sailing yacht. This cost around $195,000.

Upgrades

They have upgraded their boat with:

➜ B&G Zeus 3

➜ Bow thruster

➜ Wireless UHF

➜ New autopilot

➜ 3 water tanks

They’re definitely serious about cruising around the world with this vessel. They even have their own ice maker. 🙂

Location

According to Instagram, they are in Montenegro

According to YouTube, they are also in Montenegro

This means they are currently up to date on their videos.

Past Cruising

They have so far been sailing around the Mediterranean.

Affording It

One of Benjamin’s companies went bankrupt in 2017, with issues that still arise today. It’s definitely been tough for all 3 and this is a key reason why they wanted to leave their past behind and move on to a boat.

Rianne has been open about owning the boat herself, and she’s abundant with money. She previously tried building a sustainable clothing company but struggled, much like many entrepreneurs. Fortunately, she kept some money herself.

Today, they do make a few dollars on YouTube.

Net Worth

YouTubers are often wealthier than we assume.

As of 2023, Feel the Breeze Family has a net worth of just $510,000 USD.

This is an estimation that combines their boat valuation and personal investments. While it’s small, they have found the means to purchase their own yacht.

Making Loot

Today, they make their income with:

➜ Affiliate links placed within their video description

➜ Allowing YouTube to put ads on their channel

➜ Running their own Patreon account

➜ Selling their own exclusive merchandise

With this combined, Feel The Breeze Family are making around $5,500/month through their channel.

It’s clear that they’re running their YouTube account like a business and take their monetization seriously.

Collaborations

I haven’t seen them featured with any other YouTubers.

Big Moments

Their biggest moment was Rianne temporarily leaving to gain some space.

The court case continues to overshadow Feel The Breeze Family’s cruising adventures.

Future Plans

They’re planning to sail around the world, but is Rianne pregnant again? 🤔

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from this wonderful cruising family?

➜ You don’t need to build a million-dollar company

➜ Re-evaluate your life choices as often as you can

➜ Be willing to learn your own boat inside and out

➜ A yacht is much more affordable than a catamaran

And of course, for the men, find a beautiful mermaid to join you on your journey.

Conclusion

I have really enjoyed their adventures on YouTube. It certainly hasn’t been easy but I can’t wait until they have 100% freedom.

Entrepreneurship is a tough gig and they’re holding on to some baggage from the past. I should know – I’ve had a tough journey too.

But with will, persistence and determination, they have found a way to move forward sustainably.

I can’t wait to see what’s to come. 😀

They were from Melbourne and escaped due to the never-ending lockdowns in 2020. Prior to this, they grew up in Adelaide just like myself.

They also use referral links to their camera and sailing gear to Amazon.

There are a ton of things they could do to monetize their channel so much more.

Collaborations

They haven’t really collaborated with other YouTube cruisers, but they are very similar to Sailing Ruby Rose.

Big Moments

Moments in their journey include being interviewed on the news, experiencing some tough storms and struggling with emotional challenges.

They actually inspected a boat in Brisbane (S/V Sabu) that they ultimately decided it wasn’t for them. An older gentleman bought it and yet, after 3 weeks of ownership, was demasted near Coffs Harbour.

See the story here:

Future Plans

They’re planning to take their yacht around the world.

Key Takeaways

What can we learn?

➜ Anyone can learn how to sail

➜ It’s OK to take 12 months off

➜ You don’t need much experience

➜ Work through the toughest of jobs

Most importantly, find a special mermaid to join you on the journey!

Conclusion

John and Kristina are so wonderful, and Kristina’s calming narration voice is based on her years of experience on Australian television networks.

It’s so refreshing to see someone semi-famous head out there and explore. Their story-telling is wonderful and I can’t wait to see more!

Doug has put a ton of work into it, and his website is extensive where he goes through the entire build process.

Making Loot

He makes a little amount on YouTube through:

➜ Amazon referral links

He hasn’t really had any brand sponsorships.

Collaborations

He’s been featured on a few other YouTube channels, but these are often smaller creators.

Sailing Uma has been huge fans of Doug’s channel.

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from this ambitious old-timer?

This is the definitive guide about the Survival Beast YouTube channel for 2023.

Over the last several years, I have spent many hours watching and researching everything I could about Survival Beast to learn more about their story.

(Yes, I really am *that* obsessed with Adam’s raw and primitive adventures 😃)

If you wanted to know:

➜ How Survival Beast afforded their boat

➜ How they make their money today

➜ What boat do they have and its upgrades

➜ How much Survival Beast paid for his Indonesian island

➜ What he and his girlfriend’s real names are

Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Before we start, a quick introduction from me…

The Cruising Freedom Author

Ahoy, Matey! I’m Joshua from Australia.

I’ve built the perfect business to sail the world.

Survival Beast FAQs (April 2023)

I’ve tried to make this as accurate as possible. If you have additional information, please reach out to me today.

Crew Members

Adam Cavanagh (known as Cavy) is 33 years old and runs the Survival Beast YouTube channel. His more popular channel is called Cavy Fishing, while the Survival Beast channel focuses on primitive survival as opposed to big-game fishing.

So yes, he runs 2 channels on YouTube which are slightly different.

Survival Beast’s girlfriend is Natalie who is 20 years old and is featured on his main channel. She is originally from Bali, Indonesia and Adam met her on the island during a trip over there a couple of years ago.

Together, they have now bought their own small tropical island which cost them around $150,000 Australian dollars.

Island Location

The GPS coordinates for Survival Beast’s Indonesian island are a closely-guarded secret. I’m not allowed to share this information at this time.

Past Fishing

Much like his current location, I’m also not allowed to share his best fishing spots. This is to stop poaches from heading into these areas and depleting the natural fish numbers.

Affording It

Adam worked seriously hard for years and fished a lot on weekends. He was eventually able to quit his job and do YouTube as a full-time gig, but this took some hard work and skilled editing to get off the ground.

Net Worth

Remarkably, Survival Beast’s net worth is $1,540,000 Australian dollars as of 2023.

This is based on the value of his island, his boat, car and online business.

Making Loot

He does YouTube full-time now and makes $7,600/month through:

➜ Allowing ads on his channel

➜ Selling his own Survival Beast merchandise

He could easily double or even triple his earnings through brand sponsors and referral programs, but he has chosen not to do this at this time.

Collaborations

He hasn’t been featured with any other fishing YouTubers as most of the legends in the community are in Australia, not Indonesia. Regardless, we’re all looking forward to seeing him on YBS Youngbloods in the near future.

Future Plans

Adam plans to live out his days fishing and living off the land, rather than living anywhere near a congested city.

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from this Aussie legend?

➜ Life is too short to be working

➜ Be willing to take calculated risks

➜ Don’t be shy to jump on camera

➜ Find someone who also loves fishing

…and most importantly, work hard for your freedom!

Conclusion

I’ve really enjoyed watching his channel over these last few years, and certainly can’t wait to see what’s coming on the horizon for his channel!

Nick Fry FAQs (April 2023)

Boat Name

I’m not sure what his boat is called.

Crew Members

Nick Fry (age 23)

His girlfriend is Brooke Smith

She is a social media influencer based in Australia but she also works as a Paediatric / Registered nurse at the Queensland Children’s Hospital:

The Boat

Nicks’ boat is 2014 Highfield Ocean Master Deluxe 540.

He has a Toyota Hilux with 017 CS5 as his number plate.

Upgrades

Some upgrades he’s done include fish finder and a bigger anchor.

Location

According to Instagram, they are in the Whitsundays but are embarking on a trip throughout Western Australia.

The reason he is solo is that his girlfriend is working full-time at the hospital and doesn’t have enough annual leave.

Past Fishing

Most of Nick’s secret fishing spots have been throughout Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and the Northern Rivers.

I may happen to know his GPS locations… 😉

Affording It

Did Nick come from rich parents that bought him everything? Not really. After leaving school, he worked for a few years and spent his weekends fishing and making videos.

Eventually, it became enough to live off so he quit his job.

Net Worth

As of 2022, Nick Fry’s net worth is $270,000 Australian dollars.

Making Bank

Nick creates content for a living, and he makes $7,400/month on YouTube through:

➜ Allowing ads to run on his channel

➜ Brand sponsorships and shoutouts

He could make 10x more off his channel but he creates fishing content for his audience as opposed to making money.

Collaborations

I have seen Nick Fry mentioned or featured on a few other channels.

Big Moments

Nick has done a ton of catch-and-cook videos, both solo and with his girlfriend Brooke.

Future Plans

Nick’s plan is to camp and fish his way through Western Australia. Brooke is working full-time now (in her dream job) and will join her on occasions)

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from him?

➜ Life is too short to play small

➜ You need to find freedom

➜ Be willing to go exploring

➜ Find a lass who’ll support you

And of course, start building your foundations now!

Conclusion

Nick is a total legend on YouTube and has inspired many young Australians to get

Briggsy Sport Fishing: Net Worth, Location and Girlfriend (2023)

Everything You Always Wanted To Know

Joshua Smith

Founder and Editor at Cruising Freedom

This is the definitive guide on Briggsy Sport Fishing for 2023.

Over the last several years, I have spent many hours watching and researching everything I could about Briggsy Sport Fishing.

(Yes, I really am *that* obsessed with Aaron and his fishing adventures on YouTube 😃)

If you wanted to know:

➜ How Briggsy Sport Fishing scored his freedom

➜ How he makes his money on YouTube

➜ What boat does he have and its upgrades

➜ Who his girlfriend is and her age

➜ How you can start crossing oceans

Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Before we start, a quick introduction from me…

Briggsy Sport Fishing FAQs (April 2023)

I’ve tried to make this as accurate as possible.

If you have additional information, please reach out.

Fishing Crew

Aaron Briggs (aka Briggsy) is 34 years old and runs the Briggsy Sport Fishing channel by himself.

He’s been running his channel for a few years, and also has a small catch n cook channel called Briggsy’s Kitchen which is about preparation and cooking fish.

His girlfriend is Ochre Woodberry (age 33) who have been together since late 2018 and aren’t married.

That said, she hasn’t been on his channel for a while. Did they go separate ways? Or did she go vegan? (lol)

I say that because she runs a florist business called Mahana Flora based in Byron Bay. There are plenty of vegans in town.

Aaron has two boys (age 5 and 10) from a previous relationship and are now with him full-time, as of early 2022.

The Boat

Briggsy typically uses his kayak when he isn’t fishing off a cliff, but sometimes uses his mates’ boats too.

His mate Denny (Dennis Verreet) had a $250,000 25-foot Contender fishing boat which sadly flipped one night and sunk.

Location

A lot of his fishing adventures have been filmed in Sydney and Northern NSW, while some have been filmed in the Whitsundays.

Affording It

Briggsy is totally free to do YouTube full-time now, but it didn’t start out this way. He worked hard during the week and spent the weekends fishing.

After some time, he started recording and low and behold, people loved it! He’s real, authentic and doesn’t make apologies, nor does he partake in the silly drama that other channels do.

He keeps his expenses low despite doing well for himself.

Net Worth

Fishing influencers on YouTube are often wealthier than we are.

As of 2023, Briggsy Sport Fishing has a net worth of $570,000 Australian dollars.

This has been estimated based on his influence in the Australian fishing scene, his personal savings and business income. He does take his channel quite seriously.

Making Loot

He makes a solid income through:

➜ Brand sponsorships with Daiwa Fishing

➜ Allowing YouTube to put ads on his channel

This is often enough to fund his lifestyle, with him making around $4,500/month on YouTube.

Collaborations

I’ve seen him on a few other channels, and he’s good mates with a few other channels too.

Big Moments

Apart from some epic catches, he has experienced:

➜ They were rescued by a catamaran after the Contender capsized

➜ Denny’s foot got infected around the same time

Future Plans

He’s going to continue fishing his way around Australia, and potentially sailing around the world.

Key Takeaways

This legend has many lessons worth learning:

➜ Be raw and real with your audience

➜ Take calculated risks when you can

➜ Find some mates to go fishing with

➜ You don’t need an expensive boat

And of course, find a mermaid who shares your love for fishing! 😉

Conclusion

I look forward to watching more of his episodes, just like you. Meanwhile, I’m working on my freedom too!

Josje Maxime Leyton: Where Did She Flee After Delos? (2023)

Everything You Always Wanted To Know

Joshua Smith

Founder and Editor at Cruising Freedom

This is the definitive guide on Josje Maxime Leyton for 2023.

From 2013 to 2016, like many people on YouTube, I was able to watch Josje Maxime Leyton’s story via YouTube.

Unfortunately, she has been missing for a while.

If you wanted to know:

➜ Where did Josje Maxime Leyton go after S/V Delos

➜ How she was making her money while sailing

➜ Why she hasn’t uploaded anything for 2 years

➜ If she found a new boyfriend after Brady

➜ How you can start crossing oceans

Then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Before we start, a quick introduction from me…

The Cruising Freedom Author

Ahoy, Matey! I’m Joshua from Australia.

I’ve built the perfect business to sail the world.

Josje Maxime Leyton FAQs (April 2023)

I have done my best to make this article as accurate as possible. If you have additional information about Josje’s whereabouts, please email me.

Crew Member

Josje Maxime Leyton (age 33) from New Zealand.

Location

After separating from Brady (who has recently started Cruiser’s Academy), she then went for a short holiday.

Within a couple of months, she was cruising with Riley and Elayna from Sailing La Vagabonde. She really came alive here where her energy bounced off Elayna’s so well!

She only spent one week with them on the catamaran.

After this time, she did some soul-searching while creating her Rama Tree brand focused on alternative arts. This has subsequently done very little.

Throughout 2018 and 2019, she spent time doing van life in Australia and continuing to live nomadically.

Her travel plans were interrupted in 2020 due to the Pandemic.

Josje Leyton has now been missing from social media now for 12+ months. No one has really heard anything since and many feel as though their best friend from Delos had suddenly vanished.

Her last video on YouTube was a little strange:

She also had her comments section turned off which is even more concerning.

Past Cruising

Josje essentially cruised around from New Zealand to Australia, up to SE Asia and Madagascar, where she eventually left Brady.

This was her last episode on Delos:

Some consider that Brady was somewhat lazy and wasn’t able to financially support her. They did some crewing on superyachts which neither seemed to enjoy all that much.

Affording It

Josje was a backpacker at heart. She earned some money through freelance writing and eventually became one of the main video editors on Delos.

In addition, she took on jobs in the cruising off-season to build her funds back up again.

Net Worth

Josje Maxime Leyton’s net worth is a mere $97,000. She never focused on money and made just enough to get to the next port.

Making Loot

Most recently, she made her money through:

➜ Selling her art and jewelry online (Rama Tree)

➜ Running a Patreon account (since closed)

➜ She also worked odd jobs in retail

She was definitely against capitalism and frequently sought spiritual refuges.

Collaborations

Apart from Delos and La Vagabonde, was she on any other episode? I can’t recall personally, but if you have seen her elsewhere, please let me know.

Big Moments

Her biggest moment was leaving Brady which was quite emotional.

Future Plans

It’s hard to know what she plans to do next. Is she pregnant? Did she find a new boyfriend? Is she at an Ashram in India?

I’ll be sure to update this article the moment I have more information about Josje. 🙂

Key Takeaways

What can we learn from this beautiful soul?

➜ Aim to always live in the moment (it’s pure joy!)

➜ Allow what comes to come and see what remains

➜ Let go of the emotional baggage holding you back

➜ The end of one journey is the beginning of another

And of course, we only live once. Make the most of today.

Conclusion

This beautiful soul captivated the hearts of many on Delos. She was one-of-a-kind and really made the crew complete.

Personally, their journey just wasn’t the same when she left. And while I did enjoy her on Riley and Elayna’s channel, I was secretly hoping she would get back with Brady.

She emphasized true freedom. Not just lifestyle freedom but spiritual and emotional freedom. She took us into a world few of us ever experienced, and we came out feeling better on the other side.

I do hope she returns to the world someday. In the meantime, I’ll be working on my own cruising plans.
